2023 Great Lakes Annual Meeting of Evolutionary Genomics
GLAM-Evogen is an annual symposium that brings together faculty and trainees in the Great Lakes (mostly eastern) region from various backgrounds who work at the interface of genomics, population genetics, and evolutionary biology.

Our registration will start on Saturday, August 19 @8:30 am. The first talk session will start @9:30 am (more info coming soon)
Keynote speaker:
Silu Wang, University at Buffalo (incoming)
Presentation information:
Posters: Our boards are 48″ wide by 48″ long. Please print accordingly. We highly recommend practicing a 5-minute walkthrough for your posters.
Talks: The talks are planned for 15 minutes (~12 minutes presentation plus 3 minutes for questions). Please plan accordingly.
Lightning talks: Lightning talks are a great way to highlight a poster you are presenting. Please prepare a single slide and talk for at most 2 minutes to explain this slide.
Please send us your slides on Thursday (Aug 17) so we can compile and upload them to the presentation computer beforehand (email to messer@cornell.edu).
Food:
Cornell Catering will provide breakfast, boxed lunches, and both morning and afternoon coffee breaks. We kindly request that everyone refrain from bringing, consuming, or handling peanuts during the event due to a severe peanut allergy among our attendees.
Happy hour:
We will likely organize an informal happy hour in downtown Ithaca on Saturday evening after the event. Stay tuned for more information.
Parking:
Campus parking is generally free on Saturdays, except where signs say otherwise. However, do note that our event coincides with Cornell’s move-in weekend, potentially resulting in some closed lots. Specifically, the Crescent Lot near the Biotechnology building will be unavailable due to another event on Saturday. We recommend checking out the Hoy Road Parking Garage, Friedman Parking Lot, Alumni Lot, or Kite Parking Lot (all marked by red arrows on this plan). As usual, please pay attention to any posted signs, and if any of these lots are closed on the day, there will typically be guides to suggest alternatives.
Sponsoring:
GLAM-Evogen 2023 is sponsored by the Cornell Center for Comparative and Population Genomics (3CPG).
